Energy Upgrade California

Energy Upgrade California is a statewide initiative committed to reaching the state’s energy goal of using 100% clean energy by 2045. The brand needed a new identity that represented the future of energy use in California.

I had the opportunity to redesign Energy Upgrade California’s brand identity; including their logo, color palette, photography style, and tagline wordmark. Once I established the brand style guide, I created materials ranging from print, broadcast and branded giveaways for community events.

The redesigned logo, the Power Monogram, represents a power button, signifying the future of energy use. Everything from our computers to electric cars is powered by the touch of a button. This logo has been designed to multitask. It shows the symbol of energy, while the monogram’s interior spells out the letters “E,” “U” and “C.” Pantone 144C was used to represent the California poppy.
